Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from the center of Izumo City, head south on Route 9 towards Matsue. Continue on Route 9 for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach Matsue. Once in Matsue, take the exit toward Wadamicho. Follow the signs for Mefu Shrine or use a GPS with the coordinates 35.4665837, 133.0587951. Parking is available near the shrine, but be sure to check for any parking fees which may apply.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Mefu Shrine using public transportation, take the JR San'in Line from Izumo City Station to Matsue Station. The train journey takes about 30 minutes. Once at Matsue Station, transfer to the Matsue City Loop Bus (Shuttle Bus) and take Line B toward Wadamicho. Get off at the Wadamicho stop, which is about a 5-minute walk from the shrine.
