Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from central Kai, take Route 20 (Chuo Highway) heading towards Kofu. Continue for approximately 15 minutes until you reach the intersection with Route 140. Turn left onto Route 140 and follow the signs towards Itabashi City. After about 10 minutes, you will see signs for Akatsuka Jōshi Park. Turn right onto the local road leading to the park entrance. There is parking available near the entrance, which may incur a small fee (around 300 yen for parking).

    From Kai City Station, take the JR Chuo Line (Rapid) towards Tokyo and get off at Takao Station. Transfer to the Keio Line and take a train towards Shinjuku. Get off at Akatsuka Station. From Akatsuka Station, you can either walk (approximately 30 minutes) or take a local bus (check schedules for the 'Akatsuka Park' bus). The bus fare is around 220 yen. After getting off at the Akatsuka Park stop, follow the signs to the park entrance.
