Getting There

  • Car

    From Osaka, take the Hanshin Expressway Route 13 towards Nara. Merge onto the Route 24 expressway and follow the signs for Nara. Once you reach Nara City, take the exit for Nara Park. Follow the signs to Toshodai-ji which is located at 13-46 Gojocho, Nara. There is parking available near the temple, but be aware that it may incur a parking fee, typically around 500 yen for a few hours.

  • Train

    From Kyoto Station, take the JR Nara Line to Nara Station. The journey takes about 45 minutes and costs around 720 yen. Upon arriving at Nara Station, exit and take a bus (Nara Kotsu Bus) towards Toshodai-ji. The bus ride takes approximately 15 minutes and costs around 230 yen. Alternatively, you can walk from Nara Station to Toshodai-ji, which takes about 30 minutes.
