If you're driving from central Kyoto, head north on Route 367 (also known as the Kurama Kaido) towards Kurama. Continue for approximately 30 minutes, enjoying the scenic countryside views. As you approach Kurama, look for signs directing you to Kifune. Turn onto Route 29 and follow the signs for Kifune. The drive will take you along beautiful winding roads. Once you reach Kifune, you can park at the designated parking areas, which might charge a small fee (around ¥500-¥1000 for parking).

To reach Kifune using public transport, start by taking the Eizan Railway from Demachiyanagi Station in Kyoto. Board the Eizan Electric Railway and head to Kurama Station, which takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Kurama Station, exit and follow the signs to Kifune. It’s about a 30-minute walk from the station to Kifune, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. Alternatively, you can take a local bus from Kurama Station that goes directly to Kifune, but be mindful of the bus schedule, as it may not run frequently.
