There is parking available in the area, but note that there may be a small fee, typically around 500 yen.

    To reach Maōden via public transportation, take the Eizan Electric Railway from Demachiyanagi Station in Kyoto. Board the Eizan Kurama Line and ride it for about 30 minutes to Kurama Station. From Kurama Station, it's a scenic 15-minute walk to Maōden. Follow the path leading towards Kurama-dera Temple, and you will find Maōden along the way. The train fare is approximately 410 yen one way.

  • Public Transportation - Bus

    Alternatively, you can take a bus from Kyoto Station to Kurama. Look for bus number 17 or 205, which will take you directly to Kurama. The bus ride takes about 50 minutes. Once you arrive at the Kurama bus stop, walk towards Kurama-dera Temple, which is about a 15-minute walk from the stop. The bus fare is around 230 yen.
