Public Transportation
If you are starting from Kyoto Station, take the JR Kyoto Line to Kyoto Station (if you are not already there). From Kyoto Station, transfer to the Karasuma Subway Line and take it to Gojo Station. At Gojo Station, transfer to the City Bus 100 or 206. Board the bus heading towards 'Higashiyama' or 'Kiyomizu-dera' and get off at 'Hongan-ji Mae' bus stop. Nishi Hongan-ji Temple is just a short walk from the bus stop. The total cost for this trip is approximately 230 yen for the subway and 230 yen for the bus.

If you are driving, take the Meishin Expressway and exit at Kyoto-minami IC. Follow the signs to Route 1 and then Route 162, which will lead you into the city center of Kyoto. Once in Kyoto, use a GPS or navigation app to direct you to Nishi Hongan-ji Temple at 〒600-8501 Kyoto, Shimogyo Ward, Honganji Monzencho. There is parking available near the temple, but note that parking fees may apply, typically around 500 yen per hour.
