Getting There

Public Transport
If you're starting from Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Line (the subway) towards Kokusaikaikan and get off at Shijo Station. From Shijo Station, transfer to the Keihan Main Line and head towards Demachiyanagi. Get off at the next stop, Gion-Shijo Station. Exit the station and head east on Shijo-dori Street. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Yasaka Shrine. Turn right onto Yasaka-dori Street and walk straight for about 10 minutes until you see Hōkan-ji Temple on your left.

Walking
If you're staying in the Gion area, you can simply walk to Hōkan-ji Temple. From the famous Gion Corner, head south on Hanamikoji Street, and then turn left onto Shijo-dori. Walk straight until you reach Yasaka Shrine. Once you reach the shrine, take the path leading east, and you will find Hōkan-ji Temple in about 10 minutes.

Bus
From Kyoto Station, take bus number 100 or 206 towards Gion. Get off at the Gion bus stop. From there, walk towards Yasaka Shrine, which is a short 5-minute walk. After visiting the shrine, continue walking east on the same path, and you will arrive at Hōkan-ji Temple in about 10 minutes.
