Bus
From Kyoto Station, take the Kyoto City Bus number 206 towards 'Higashiyama Sanjo'. Ride for about 20 minutes until you reach the 'Higashiyama Yasui' bus stop. Once you get off, walk towards the east on Yasui Street for about 10 minutes. You will arrive at Hōkan-ji, which is located at 388 Shimizu Hiyakuzaka, Higashiyama Ward.

Start at Kyoto Station and take the Karasuma Subway Line to 'Kawaramachi Station'. From there, exit the station and walk to the Kyoto City Bus Terminal. Board bus number 100 or 206 and get off at 'Higashiyama Yasui'. Walk east on Yasui Street for about 10 minutes to reach Hōkan-ji.

If you are in the Gion area, you can simply walk to Hōkan-ji. Head east on Shijo Avenue and then turn left onto Yasaka Shrine. Walk past the shrine and continue straight onto Yasui Street. Hōkan-ji is about a 15-minute walk from Gion, specifically at 388 Shimizu Hiyakuzaka.
