Bus
From Kyoto Station, take the Kyoto City Bus number 100 or 205. These buses frequently run towards the northern part of the city. Get off at the 'Nanzen-ji Eikando-michi' bus stop. From there, you will see a sign directing you towards Nanzen-ji Temple. Walk for about 5 minutes, following the signs, and you will arrive at the temple entrance.
Subway
Take the Karasuma Subway Line from Kyoto Station towards Kokusaikaikan. Get off at 'Marutamachi Station' (approximately 15 minutes). From Marutamachi Station, exit and head north towards the intersection with the main road. Turn left onto 'Sanjyo-dori' and walk straight for about 15 minutes. You'll reach the entrance of Nanzen-ji Temple on your right.
Walking
If you are staying in the central area of Kyoto, you can walk to Nanzen-ji Temple. From the Gion area, head northwest towards 'Shijo-dori' and walk along the river. Cross the 'Kamo River' and continue walking straight. You will reach 'Nanzenji Fukuchicho' after about a 30-minute walk, where the temple entrance is located.
