Getting There

  • Public Transport - Bus

    From Kyoto Station, take Bus 100 or 206. Get off at 'Gion' bus stop, which takes about 20 minutes. After getting off, head east on Shijo Avenue until you reach the Shirakawa Canal. Cross the canal and continue straight until you reach Chayacho Street. Turn left onto Chayacho, and Toyokuni Shrine will be on your right at 530 Chayacho.

  • Walking

    If you are near Yasaka Shrine, you can walk to Toyokuni Shrine. Head north on Yasaka-dori Street, then turn left on Chayacho Street. Continue walking straight for about 10 minutes. The shrine will be located on your left at 530 Chayacho.

  • Public Transport - Subway

    Take the Karasuma Line from Kyoto Station and get off at 'Karasuma Oike' Station. Change to the Tozai Line and get off at 'Higashiyama' Station. Exit the station and head east along Sanjo Street. Continue straight and turn left onto Chayacho Street. Toyokuni Shrine will be on your right at 530 Chayacho.
