Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, use a GPS navigation system or a map application and input the address: Takanaricho, Kofu, Yamanashi 400-1214. From the Mount Fuji area, take the Chuo Expressway (中央自動車道) and exit at Kofu-Minami Interchange (甲府南IC). Follow Route 20 north for approximately 10 km. Take a left onto Prefectural Road 710 (県道710号), which will lead you directly to Shosenkyo. There is parking available near the entrance, with fees typically around ¥500.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Shosenkyo using public transportation, start from Mt. Fuji Station (富士山駅) or Fujiyoshida Station (富士吉田駅). From either station, take a bus to Kofu Station (甲府駅). The bus ride will take approximately 60-90 minutes and cost around ¥1,500. Upon arriving at Kofu Station, transfer to the local bus bound for Shosenkyo (昇仙峡行き). This bus ride takes about 30 minutes and costs approximately ¥500. Once you arrive at the Shosenkyo bus stop, follow the signs to the scenic area, which is within walking distance.
