By Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Nara Park and head southeast on National Route 169. Follow signs for Gojocho. After about 10 minutes, take a left turn onto Prefectural Route 25. Continue straight for approximately 3 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Gojocho. Turn right, and you will see Toshodai-ji on your left. Parking is available nearby, but note that it may incur a fee of around ¥500.

By Public Transportation
To get to Toshodai-ji via public transportation, first make your way to Nara Station. From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line to Kintetsu Nara Station. Upon arrival, transfer to the bus bound for Gojocho (Bus No. 23). The bus ride takes about 20 minutes. Get off at the 'Toshodai-ji' bus stop, which is a short walk from the temple entrance. The bus fare is approximately ¥220 one way.

Walking from Gojocho
If you're already in the Gojocho area, you can walk to Toshodai-ji. Head east on Gojocho Street, and after about 10 minutes of walking, you will find the entrance to Toshodai-ji on your right. The scenic route takes you past traditional Japanese houses and offers a glimpse of local life.
