Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from Nara Park, head south towards the Naramachi area. Walk along the main road, Sanjo-dori, until you reach the intersection with Nijoojiminami Street. Turn left onto Nijoojiminami Street. Continue walking for about 15 minutes, and you will find Heijokyu Izanai-kan on your right at 3 Chome-5-番1号. The building is located near the entrance of Heijo Palace ruins, making it easy to spot.

    From Nara Station, take the Nara Kotsu Bus (Nara city bus) No. 72 or No. 73 towards Heijo Palace. The journey takes about 20 minutes. Get off at the Heijo Palace East Gate bus stop. From there, walk south for about 5 minutes along the road until you reach Heijokyu Izanai-kan at 3 Chome-5-番1号, which will be on your left side.

  • Bicycle

    You can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops near Nara Station. Once you have your bike, head towards Nara Park and then follow the same route as the walking directions.
