    If you're traveling by car, navigate to Heijō Palace Site Historical National Park located at 3 Chome-5-番1号 Nijoojiminami, Nara, 630-8012. From central Osaka, take the Hanshin Expressway No. 13 Ikeda Line and merge onto the Kinki Expressway (Kansai Expressway) towards Nara. After about 40 km, take the exit towards Nara City. Follow the signs for Nara Park and then for Heijō Palace. There is parking available near the site, but be aware that parking fees may apply, typically around 300-500 yen for a few hours.

  • Train

    To reach Heijō Palace Site via public transportation, take the Kintetsu Nara Line from Osaka Namba Station to Kintetsu Nara Station, which takes about 45 minutes. From Kintetsu Nara Station, exit the station and take bus number 70 or 72 towards Heijō Palace. The bus ride takes about 10 minutes and costs around 210 yen.
