From Osaka Station, take the JR Loop Line (also known as the Osaka Loop Line) towards Nishikujo. Get off at Namba Station. Transfer to the Nankai Main Line and take a train towards Wakayama. Get off at Sakai Station. From Sakai Station, exit the station and head southeast towards the Sakai City Hall. Continue straight for about 1.5 km, then turn right onto Shukuinchohigashi Street. Kenponji will be located at 4 Chome−1−30, approximately 10 minutes' walk from the turn.

From Namba Station, take the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line towards Nakatsu. Get off at Sakai Station (this is the last stop). After exiting the station, head southeast towards Sakai City Hall. Walk straight for about 1.5 km, then make a right turn onto Shukuinchohigashi Street. Kenponji is at 4 Chome−1−30, a short walk from the intersection.
