Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, head south on Route 156 from the center of Shirakawa-go. Continue for about 30 minutes until you reach the junction with Route 471. Turn right onto Route 471 and follow the signs to Takayama. After approximately 20 minutes, you will see signs for Yanagibashi Bridge on your right. There is limited parking available near the bridge, so be sure to arrive early to secure a spot.

    If you are using public transportation, start at the Shirakawa-go bus terminal. Take the Nohi Bus service towards Takayama. The bus ride will take about 50 minutes and will cost around 2,000 yen. Once you arrive at Takayama Bus Station, exit the terminal and walk towards the north exit. From there, it's about a 15-minute walk to Yanagibashi.
