Getting There

  • Train

    If you're starting from Shinjuku Station, take the JR Chuo Line (Rapid) towards Takao. Get off at Nakano Station (approximately 10 minutes). At Nakano Station, transfer to the Toei Oedo Line and take the train towards Hikarigaoka. Get off at Hikarigaoka Station (approximately 10 minutes). From Hikarigaoka Station, take Exit 1 and walk straight for about 15 minutes. You will arrive at the Tokyo Daibutsu located at 5 Chome-28-3 Akatsuka, Itabashi City.

  • Subway

    Starting from Tokyo Station, take the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line towards Ikebukuro. Get off at Ikebukuro Station (approximately 20 minutes). At Ikebukuro Station, transfer to the Seibu Ikebukuro Line and take a train towards Kawagoe. Get off at Nerima Station (approximately 10 minutes). From Nerima Station, transfer to the Toei Oedo Line and head towards Hikarigaoka. Get off at Hikarigaoka Station (approximately 5 minutes). Exit the station and walk straight for about 15 minutes to reach Tokyo Daibutsu.

    If you are near Ikebukuro Station, take the Seibu Ikebukuro Line to Itabashi Station. From Itabashi Station, take a bus from Stop 5 (Itabashi Eki) on the west exit side. Board the bus heading towards Akatsuka. Get off at the Akatsuka Daibutsu Mae bus stop (about 10 minutes). From there, it’s a short walk to Tokyo Daibutsu located at 5 Chome-28-3 Akatsuka, Itabashi City.
