Discover more about Odaiba Marine Park

Odaiba Marine Park is a popular urban retreat located on the man-made island of Odaiba in Tokyo Bay. Originally built as a series of fort islands in the 1850s to protect Edo (now Tokyo) from naval attacks, Odaiba has transformed into a vibrant commercial, residential, and leisure hub. The park itself was inaugurated on December 1, 1975. The park's 800-meter-long artificial coastline provides a scenic setting for various activities. Although swimming is prohibited, visitors can enjoy windsurfing and other water sports. The sandy beach, with sand brought from Kozushima Island, is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the waterfront atmosphere. One of the park's iconic features is the replica of the Statue of Liberty, a gift from Paris commemorating the 'Year of France in Japan' in 1998. The statue, installed in December 2000, stands approximately 11 meters tall and offers a great photo opportunity with the Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo Tower in the background. Odaiba Marine Park also provides stunning views of the Rainbow Bridge, which connects Odaiba to mainland Tokyo. The bridge is especially beautiful at night when it is illuminated, creating a romantic and iconic Tokyo landmark. The park hosted the triathlon and marathon swimming events during the 2020 Summer Olympics. Beyond the beach and landmarks, Odaiba Marine Park offers green spaces for picnics, walking, and jogging. The park is surrounded by shopping and dining facilities, including DECKS Tokyo Beach and Aqua City Odaiba, making it a convenient destination for a full day of entertainment.
