Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from the center of Yufuin, head south on Route 210 (Yufuin Main Street). Continue straight for approximately 1.5 km until you reach the intersection with Route 621. Turn left onto Route 621 and follow it for about 2 km. Look for signs indicating 大杵社 (Okinesha Shrine). The 大杵社の大スギ (Okinesha's Great Cedar) is located within the shrine grounds. There is a parking area nearby, but note that there may be a small fee for parking.

    If you prefer to use public transportation, take a local bus from Yufuin Station. The bus stop is located just outside the station. Board a bus heading towards Kawaminami and ask the driver to let you know when you reach 大杵社 (Okinesha Shrine). The bus ride takes about 15 minutes, and the fare is around 300 yen.
