If you're traveling by car, start from Almaty city center. Head southeast on Dostyk Avenue towards Al-Farabi Avenue. Continue on Al-Farabi Avenue until you reach the intersection with Abay Avenue. Follow Abay Avenue and then take the road to Medeu District. You can park your car at the Medeu skating rink area. From the parking lot, follow the signs pointing towards the hiking trails leading to Black Waterfall. The hike to the waterfall is approximately 3-4 kilometers and takes around 1-1.5 hours depending on your pace.

For public transportation, you can take bus number 12 or 28 from the Almaty city center to the Medeu area. After reaching Medeu, you will need to walk to the base of the hiking trail leading to Black Waterfall. It's about a 20-30 minute walk from the bus stop to the trailhead. Once you reach the trailhead, the hike to Black Waterfall is approximately 3-4 kilometers, taking about 1-1.5 hours to reach the waterfall.
