If you are traveling by car and are already in Turgen Gorge, head east on the main road (A2) towards the city of Almaty. After approximately 20 kilometers, look for a sign indicating the turn-off towards Tamgaly-Tas, which is marked by the coordinates 44.0613° N, 76.9962° E. Turn left onto the unpaved road and follow it for about 5 kilometers. Keep an eye out for the signs directing you to the Tamgaly-Tas site, which is known for its petroglyphs. There is no specific entrance fee, but ensure your vehicle is suitable for off-road conditions.

For those using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Almaty to Turgen Gorge. Buses depart regularly from the Sayakhat Bus Station. The journey takes about 1-1.5 hours, costing around 500 KZT. Once in Turgen Gorge, you may need to hire a taxi for the remaining 10 kilometers to Tamgaly-Tas. The taxi fare should range between 1000 KZT to 2000 KZT depending on negotiation. Ensure to confirm your drop-off point at the petroglyphs site.
