If you are traveling by car, start from the main entrance of Mount Kenya National Park. Head southeast on the main road towards Timau. Continue on this road for about 20 kilometers until you reach the Timau area. Look for signs directing you to Ngare Ndare Waterfall. Upon reaching the entrance to the Ngare Ndare Forest, you may need to pay an entrance fee of approximately 200 KES per person. Once inside, follow the marked trails leading to the waterfall, which is about a 1.5 km hike from the forest entrance.

To get to Ngare Ndare Waterfall using public transport, you should first take a matatu (shared taxi) from Nanyuki to Timau. The journey takes about 30 minutes and costs around 100 KES. Once you arrive in Timau, you'll need to hire a local taxi or arrange for a boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) to take you the remaining distance to the Ngare Ndare Forest entrance, which is approximately 5 km away.
