During World War I, it housed a Red Cross unit, and later, during the German occupation, it served as the Talsi County Board. In 1919, the establishment of the Soviet regime was proclaimed within its walls. Throughout the years, Talsu Tautas Nams has been a hub for amateur art traditions, hosting concerts, theater performances, and poetry evenings. Today, it continues to be the largest cultural institution in the Talsi region, providing a space for 17 amateur art collectives and hosting a variety of events, including guest performances, exhibitions, and community gatherings.
