    From Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi, take the M1 highway heading north towards Nkhata Bay. After approximately 230 kilometers, you will reach the junction for the M5 road. Take the M5 towards Nkhata Bay. Continue on this road for about 40 kilometers until you reach the town of Nkhata Bay. There, you will need to arrange for a boat transfer to Likoma Island, as there are no direct roads to the island. The boat ride takes about 1.5 to 2 hours and costs approximately 15,000 MWK per person. Upon arriving at Likoma Island, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to Kaya Mawa, located in Nkwazi Village, which is about 10 minutes from the boat landing point.
