Once you reach the park entrance, continue driving until you see the signs for Carderock Climbing Area. There is a parking lot designated for the BGT-C access point. Please note that parking is free, but it can fill up quickly on weekends. Aim to arrive early to secure a spot.

For public transportation, take the Metro to the Grosvenor-Strathmore station on the Red Line. From there, you can catch the Ride On bus #34 towards the Potomac. Get off at the Carderock Recreation Area stop. From the bus stop, it is a short walk to the Carderock Climbing Area & BGT-C Parking. Ensure you check the bus schedule in advance as service may vary, especially on weekends.

If you find yourself already at the Billy Goat Trail, look for the signs indicating the path to Carderock Climbing Area. The trails are well-marked, and you can follow the yellow markers leading towards the climbing area. It is approximately a 15-20 minute walk from the main trailhead, depending on your pace. Ensure you wear appropriate footwear as the trails can be rocky and uneven.
