Walking
From Back Bay, head to the nearest subway station, which is the Copley station on the Green Line. Take the Green Line inbound train towards Park Street. At Park Street, transfer to the Red Line and board a train towards Alewife. Get off at the next stop, which is the Charles/MGH station. From there, exit the station and walk towards the Charles River. Cross the river via the Longfellow Bridge, which will lead you directly into the Charlestown area. Once you’re in Charlestown, follow signs to the Boston National Historical Park - Charlestown Navy Yard, which is located at Building 5, Charlestown Navy Yard, Boston, MA 02109. This walk will take approximately 20-30 minutes.

Public Transit (Bus)
From Back Bay, walk to the nearest bus stop at the corner of Boylston Street and Arlington Street. Board the #43 or #55 bus towards the Sullivan Square station. This bus will take you directly towards Charlestown. Get off at the Bunker Hill Community College stop. From there, it is a short walk to the Boston National Historical Park - Charlestown Navy Yard. Just follow the signs towards the Navy Yard, which should take about 10-15 minutes of walking. Note that bus fares are $2.40 using a CharlieCard or $2.90 with cash.

Ferry
For a scenic option, from Back Bay, make your way to the nearest ferry terminal at Long Wharf. You can get there by taking the Green Line from Copley to Park Street, then transferring to the Blue Line and getting off at Government Center. Walk towards Long Wharf. At Long Wharf, board the Charlestown Ferry which travels across the harbor. The ferry ride takes about 15 minutes, and offers beautiful views of the city. Once you arrive at the Charlestown Navy Yard ferry terminal, the Boston National Historical Park is a short walk away. The ferry fare is $3.70 each way.
