If you are in the heart of Charlestown, head towards Main Street. Walk along Main Street until you reach the intersection with Bunker Hill Street. Turn left onto Bunker Hill Street, and continue until you reach the intersection with 2nd Avenue. Turn right onto 2nd Avenue, and you will find the Commandant's House at 23 2nd Ave, just a short walk from here.

Public Transportation - Bus
You can take the MBTA bus route 93 to the Bunker Hill Community College stop. From there, walk towards Bunker Hill Street, and follow the same directions as above: turn left onto Bunker Hill Street, then right onto 2nd Avenue to reach the Commandant's House. Note that a bus ticket costs $1.70.

Ferry
If you are near the waterfront, consider taking the Charlestown Ferry from Long Wharf or the North End. The ferry will drop you off at the Charlestown Navy Yard. From the ferry terminal, walk towards the end of the yard, and take a left onto 2nd Avenue. The Commandant's House is a short walk away. The ferry fare is approximately $3.70.
