From the Back Bay neighborhood, start by heading east on Boylston Street towards Arlington Street. Continue walking straight for about 0.5 miles (approximately 10-15 minutes). You will pass the Boston Public Library on your left. As you approach Copley Square, keep straight until you reach the intersection with Tremont Street. Turn left on Tremont Street and continue walking for about 0.3 miles. You will then reach School Street. Turn right onto School Street, and Boston's Old City Hall will be on your left at 45 School St, Boston, MA 02108.

From Back Bay Station, take the Orange Line subway towards North Station. Ride for one stop and get off at Haymarket Station. From Haymarket Station, exit and walk southwest on Blackstone Street. Continue to cross Congress Street and you will reach the intersection with School Street. Turn left onto School Street, and Boston's Old City Hall will be on your right at 45 School St, Boston, MA 02108. Note that a subway ticket costs $2.40.
