    From the center of New Bedford, head to the New Bedford Ferry Terminal located at 1 Ferry Terminal. Take the ferry to Vineyard Haven. The ferry ride takes about 35 minutes. Once you arrive at Vineyard Haven, exit the terminal and follow Main Street to the bus stop. Take the Martha's Vineyard Transit Authority (VTA) bus towards Tisbury. Get off at the West Chop Lighthouse stop. From there, it's a short walk to the lighthouse.

    From the New Bedford Whaling Museum at 18 Johnny Cake Hill, walk to the nearest bus stop on Purchase Street. Take the Greater New Bedford Regional Transit Authority (GNBRT) bus towards Fairhaven. Transfer at the Fairhaven terminal to the VTA bus that goes to Vineyard Haven. Once in Vineyard Haven, follow the above instructions to reach West Chop Lighthouse.
