Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving to Atkinson Common, start from downtown Newburyport. Head south on Merrimac Street, then take a right onto High Street (Route 1A). Continue on High Street for about 1 mile until you reach 388 High St. There is parking available near the park. Please note that parking may be limited during peak hours.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can take the MBTA commuter rail to Newburyport Station. From the station, you will need to walk to the nearest bus stop (approximately a 10-minute walk) and take the 67 bus towards Newburyport. Get off at the High Street stop near the intersection with 388 High St. Atkinson Common will be a short walk from there.

• Walking

  If you are already in the vicinity of downtown Newburyport, you can walk to Atkinson Common. From the Market Square area, head south on State Street, continue onto Merrimac Street, and then take a right onto High Street. Walk for about 15-20 minutes, and you will arrive at 388 High St, where Atkinson Common is located.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, Newburyport has bike-friendly streets. Start from downtown and head south on Merrimac Street, then turn onto High Street. Follow High Street until you reach Atkinson Common at 388 High St. There are bike racks available at the park.
