In Escárcega, switch to Federal Highway 186 toward Xpujil. Follow the signs to Calakmul. The entrance to Zona Arqueológica de Calakmul is approximately 60 km from Xpujil, along a well-marked road. There is a fee to enter the archaeological site, typically around 70 MXN per person. Make sure to bring cash as card payments may not be accepted.

To reach Calakmul using public transport, take a bus from major cities like Campeche or Chetumal to Xpujil. The buses depart regularly, and the fare ranges from 150-200 MXN. Upon arriving in Xpujil, you can hire a taxi or find a local tour operator who can take you to the Zona Arqueológica de Calakmul. The taxi fare from Xpujil to the site is approximately 600-800 MXN one way.
