Getting There

  • Car

    From Tikal National Park, take the main road towards the entrance of the park. Head west on the Route 9 (CA-9) for about 30 kilometers until you reach the junction for the road leading to La Gloria. Follow the signs to La Gloria. Once you arrive in La Gloria, follow local signs to Parque Nacional El Mirador, which is approximately 8 kilometers from the center of La Gloria. Note that you may need a 4x4 vehicle due to rough terrain.

    Begin at the Tikal National Park entrance where you can catch a shuttle or a local bus heading towards Flores. Once at Flores, transfer to another bus or shuttle going to La Gloria. From La Gloria, you will need to hire a local guide or taxi to take you to Parque Nacional El Mirador as public transport may not reach the park entrance directly. Ensure to negotiate the fare beforehand; it may cost around Q200 to Q300 depending on the distance.
