Experience Detroit Riverwalk

Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're in the heart of Downtown Detroit, the Detroit Riverwalk is within walking distance. Start at the Campus Martius Park, which is a central location. From there, head southeast on Woodward Ave toward Jefferson Ave. Once you reach Jefferson Ave, turn right. Continue walking along Jefferson Ave until you see the entrance to the Riverwalk at 1340 Atwater St. This route will take approximately 20 minutes on foot and offers scenic views of the waterfront.

  • Public Transit (People Mover)

    Another option is to use the Detroit People Mover, an elevated train system. Find the nearest People Mover station, such as the Cadillac Center Station, which is located near the Detroit Opera House. Board the train heading toward the Greektown station. Once you arrive at the Greektown station, exit and walk southeast toward Atwater St. The Riverwalk entrance is about a 10-minute walk from the station. The People Mover costs $0.75 per ride.

  • Public Transit (Bus)

    You can also take the SMART bus service. Look for the bus stop on Woodward Ave. Check the SMART bus schedule and board a bus that is heading toward the Rivertown area.
