    From the heart of the Old Market, head north on 11th Street towards Howard Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Dodge Street. Cross Dodge Street and continue walking north on 11th Street. After about a 15-minute walk, you will reach the intersection of 11th Street and Lake Street. At this point, turn left onto Lake Street and continue walking west for another 10 minutes. Your destination, the Winter Quarters Historical Marker, will be located on your right, just past the intersection of Lake Street and 30th Avenue.

    From Old Market, you can catch the Metro transit bus. Walk to the nearest bus stop at 10th and Farnam Street. Board bus number 2 (North Omaha) heading north. The bus ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Disembark at the stop closest to 30th and Lake Street. From there, walk east on Lake Street for about 5 minutes, and you will reach the Winter Quarters Historical Marker. Note that a single ride on the Metro bus costs $1.25.
