Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the Haarlem central train station (Haarlem CS), exit the station and head south on the Stationsplein. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the Kruisweg. Turn left onto the Kruisweg and walk for about 5 minutes until you reach the Grote Markt, a large square surrounded by historic buildings. From the Grote Markt, head east toward the Bakenessergracht. Cross the bridge over the canal and continue straight until you see the entrance to Hofje van Loo on your right. The entrance is marked and has a quaint courtyard.

Walking
From the Frans Hals Museum, exit the museum and head west toward the Zijlstraat. Turn left onto Zijlstraat and walk straight until you reach the intersection with the Kruisweg. Turn right onto the Kruisweg and continue straight for about 10 minutes. You will reach the Grote Markt; from there, follow the directions above to Hofje van Loo.

If you are near the Haarlem City Hall (Raadhuis), exit the building and head north toward the Grote Markt. Once at the Grote Markt, proceed east toward the Bakenessergracht, then follow the same directions as before to reach Hofje van Loo.

Bicycle
If you have rented a bicycle, from the central train station, exit onto Stationsplein and ride south on the Stationsweg. Continue until you reach the Bakenessergracht. Turn left onto the canal path and follow it east until you see Hofje van Loo on your left. The bike path is scenic and allows you to enjoy the canals of Haarlem.
