Walking
From the center of Haarlem, head east towards the main train station, Haarlem Centraal. Once there, look for the train heading to Leiden. Purchase a ticket to Leiden which is about a 20-25 minute train ride. Upon arriving at Leiden train station, exit the station and head southwest on Stationsweg. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the Vrouwensteeg. Turn left onto Vrouwensteeg and continue until you reach the intersection with Steenstraat. Finally, turn right onto Steenstraat, and the National Museum of Ethnology will be on your right at Steenstraat 1B.

Begin at Haarlem's main square, Grote Markt. Look for the bus stop near the square and catch bus number 50 towards Leiden. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. After arriving at the bus stop in Leiden, walk towards the city center. Head southwest along Breestraat, then take a right on Steenstraat. The National Museum of Ethnology is located at Steenstraat 1B, approximately a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.
