Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Leiden Central Station, head south on Stationsweg towards the Molenbrug. Continue straight until you reach the Lammenschans. Turn left onto the Lammenschans and walk until you reach the Vrouwenweg. Take a right at the intersection, then head straight until you reach the Breestraat. Follow Breestraat until you get to the main square, where you can catch a bus to Amsterdam (Bus 30). The bus will take you directly to Amsterdam Central Station. From there, you can easily reach the canals.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from one of the many bike rental shops in Leiden. Start at the bike rental shop and head towards the Rijnsburgerweg. Continue on Rijnsburgerweg until you reach the A44 intersection. Follow the A44 towards Amsterdam, which will lead you via well-marked cycling paths. The ride should take about an hour, and upon arrival in Amsterdam, you can park your bike at any designated bike parking near the canals.

  • Train

    Go to the Leiden Central Station and purchase a train ticket to Amsterdam Central Station. After getting your ticket, board the Intercity train heading to Amsterdam. The journey will take approximately 35 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Central Station, follow the signs to the exit and walk towards the canals, which are just a few minutes away from the station.
