Car
If you are driving, start on I-80 E. Take exit 310 for PA-209 S toward Delaware Water Gap. Follow PA-209 S into the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Once inside the park, continue on the road till you reach the parking area for the Appalachian Trail. The trailhead is located at the Parking Area. Hike on the Appalachian Trail for approximately 1 mile until you reach the Council Rock Lookout.

Public Transportation
To reach Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area via public transportation, you can take a NJ Transit train to the Stroudsburg station. From the station, you will need to catch a local taxi or rideshare service to the park entrance. Once in the park, you can walk to the Appalachian Trail entrance and hike approximately 1 mile to Council Rock Lookout.

Once you arrive at the Appalachian Trail parking area, start your hike on the Appalachian Trail. The trail is well-marked, and you will ascend gradually. Follow the signs to Council Rock Lookout, which will be approximately 1 mile up the trail. Be prepared for a moderately strenuous hike, as there may be some elevation gain.
