Car
If you are driving from Hunter Mountain, start by heading south on NY-23A. Continue for about 5 miles until you reach the junction with NY-214. Turn left onto NY-214 and follow this road for approximately 8 miles. You will then turn right onto County Road 42. Continue on County Road 42 for about 2 miles, and then you will see signs for Ashokan Reservoir. Turn left into the parking area for the reservoir.

Public Transportation
To reach Ashokan Reservoir via public transportation, take the CAT (Catskill Area Transit) bus from Hunter Mountain towards Kingston. You will need to transfer at the Kingston bus terminal. From there, take the Ulster County Area Transit bus route 1 towards West Shokan. Once you arrive in West Shokan, you will have to walk approximately 1 mile to the Ashokan Reservoir entrance. Look for signs directing you to the reservoir.
