    If you are in the western part of Long Island, take the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) from stations such as Mineola, Hempstead, or Babylon to Penn Station in Manhattan. Once at Penn Station, follow the signs to the subway. Take the 1 train (red line) to Times Square-42nd Street, then transfer to the 7 train (purple line) towards Flushing. Get off at Vernon Blvd-Jackson Ave station. From there, it's a short walk to Long Island City.
