Once at the terminal, purchase a ticket for the Statue Cruises ferry, which includes access to both the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The round-trip fare is approximately $24 for adults. Ferries run frequently, so check the schedule for the next departure. The ferry ride takes about 15 minutes to reach Ellis Island.

If you prefer to drive, navigate to Battery Park in lower Manhattan. Use a GPS or a map application to find the best route from your current location. Be aware that parking in the area can be expensive and limited. The closest parking garages include the Battery Park Garage, which is located at 70 Greenwich Street. Expect to pay around $30-$50 for a few hours of parking. After parking, walk to the Battery Park Ferry Terminal to catch the ferry to Ellis Island.

For those coming from other parts of New York City, you can also use the subway to get to Battery Park. From Midtown, take the 1 train to South Ferry or the R/W train to Whitehall Street. After arriving at either station, walk to Battery Park and head to the ferry terminal. Purchase your ferry ticket from the Statue Cruises booth and board the ferry to Ellis Island.
