Getting There

Subway
From any location in Yonkers, make your way to the Yonkers Metro-North Station. Once there, board a southbound train on the Hudson Line towards Grand Central Terminal. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at the 125th Street Station in Harlem. From the station, head to the nearest subway entrance and take the 2 or 3 train downtown. Get off at the 72nd Street Station. After exiting the station, walk east to the East River and find the Roosevelt Island tram station nearby at 59th Street and 2nd Avenue. Take the tram to Roosevelt Island, which offers stunning views of the city. Upon arrival at Roosevelt Island, follow signs to the Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms State Park, which is a short walk from the tram station.

Bus
Start at the Yonkers Public Library. From there, walk to the nearest bus stop (on Nepperhan Avenue). Take the Bee-Line Bus #1 towards the Bronx. After about 30 minutes, get off at the bus stop at the FDR Drive. Next, transfer to the Q102 bus towards Astoria. Ride the Q102 until you reach the Roosevelt Island stop. Once you disembark, follow the signs to Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms State Park, which is a short walk from the bus stop.

Walking
If you're already in the vicinity, find your way to the waterfront along the Hudson River. Walk south along the riverfront until you reach the ferry terminal at the Yonkers Pier. Take the ferry to Manhattan. Upon reaching Manhattan, head towards the 59th Street Bridge. Cross the bridge to Roosevelt Island. Once on Roosevelt Island, follow the signs to Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms State Park, which is a short walk from the ferry landing.
