Train
From Yonkers, head to the Yonkers train station located at 1 Hudson Street. You can take the Metro-North Railroad on the Hudson Line toward Grand Central Terminal. The train journey to 72nd St station in Manhattan will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Grand Central Terminal, transfer to the 7 subway line and travel to Times Square-42nd Street. At Times Square, switch to the 1 subway line heading toward South Ferry and get off at the 72nd Street station. From there, it is a short walk to The Dakota, located at 1 W 72nd St.

You can also take the Bee-Line Bus #1 from Yonkers. Board the bus at any stop along the route towards the Bronx. Ride the bus until you reach the last stop at the intersection of Broadway and 72nd St in Manhattan. From there, walk west on 72nd St for about 5 minutes, and you will reach The Dakota at 1 W 72nd St.

Walking
If you find yourself near the waterfront in Yonkers, you can take a scenic walk along the Hudson River. Head south along the Yonkers waterfront, which will eventually lead you to the Riverwalk. Continue walking south until you reach the train station at 1 Hudson Street, where you can then board the Metro-North train to Manhattan. Follow the train instructions above to reach The Dakota.
