If you are driving, start your journey in Palmerston North, which is a central hub in Manawatu-Wanganui. Head north on State Highway 1 (SH1) for about 30 km until you reach the intersection with State Highway 54 (SH54). Turn left onto SH54 and continue for approximately 15 km until you reach the town of Foxton. In Foxton, turn right onto State Highway 1 again, and continue driving for about 10 km. Look for the signs for Waikawa Beach, which will direct you to turn left onto Waikawa Beach Road. Follow this road for about 5 km and you will arrive at Waikawa Beach.

If you prefer public transportation, start from Palmerston North and take a bus to Foxton. The bus service is provided by Horizons Regional Council and runs several times a day.
