    From anywhere in the West Coast region, take State Highway 6 (SH6) and head northeast towards Greymouth. Continue on SH6 until you reach the intersection with State Highway 1 (SH1) near Kawatiri. Turn left onto SH1 and follow the signs towards Wellington. After approximately 180km, take the exit for Waikanae (Exit 8) onto Ngaio Road. Continue on Ngaio Road until you reach Waikanae Beach, where you can find parking facilities nearby. Depending on traffic conditions, the drive may take around 2.5 to 3 hours.
