Walking
Start at the Masterton i-SITE Visitor Information Centre located at 54 Chapel Street. Head south on Chapel Street towards the intersection with Queen Street. Turn right onto Queen Street and continue walking until you reach the bus stop at the corner of Queen Street and Lincoln Road. From there, catch the bus heading to Wellington and ask the driver to let you off at the Remutaka Hill. It is approximately a 30-minute bus ride. Once you get off at Remutaka Hill, follow the signs for Remutaka Railtrail Summit, which is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.

Bicycle
If you enjoy cycling, you can rent a bike from local shops in Masterton. Start at the Masterton i-SITE Visitor Information Centre and head south on Chapel Street. Continue onto the cycle paths that lead out of town towards the Remutaka Hill area. The ride will take roughly 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on your cycling speed. Once you reach Remutaka Hill, follow the signs for Remutaka Railtrail Summit, which should be easily visible along the trail.
