Walking
If you are starting from the Rotorua i-SITE Visitor Centre located at 1170 Fenton Street, walk south on Fenton Street towards Hinemaru Street. Turn left onto Hinemaru Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Arawa Street. Turn right onto Arawa Street and walk until you reach the intersection with Tutanekai Street. Turn left onto Tutanekai Street and proceed until you reach the intersection with Haupapa Street. Turn right onto Haupapa Street, and continue until you reach the intersection with Tryon Street. At this point, you will see the signs for Whakarewarewa, the living Maori village. Follow the signs towards Whakarewarewa, and as you enter the village, the Te Aronui a Rua Meeting House will be located within the village area.

Public Transport (Bus)
From the central Rotorua area, you can catch a local bus to Whakarewarewa. Check the local bus schedule at the Rotorua i-SITE Visitor Centre or online. You will want to board a bus heading towards the Whakarewarewa stop. Once you arrive at the Whakarewarewa stop, follow the path signs pointing to the village entrance. Upon entering the village, proceed straight, and you will find the Te Aronui a Rua Meeting House within the village grounds.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from various rental shops in Rotorua. Start from the Rotorua lakefront area and head south towards Fenton Street. Follow Fenton Street until you reach Hinemaru Street, then take a left. Continue to Arawa Street, turn right, and cycle until reaching Tutanekai Street. Turn left onto Tutanekai Street and then right onto Haupapa Street. Continue on Haupapa Street until you see the signs for Whakarewarewa.
