Public Bus
From Rotorua city center, head to the nearest bus stop, which is located on Fenton Street. You can catch the 'Rotorua to Whakarewarewa' bus, which runs frequently throughout the day. The bus will take you directly to Whakarewarewa Village. Once you arrive at the Whakarewarewa Village bus stop, exit the bus and walk towards the main entrance of the village. Waharoa / Gateway is located within the village, so follow the signs for the tourist attractions.

If you are staying in a central Rotorua accommodation, you can also walk to Waharoa / Gateway. Start from the Rotorua i-SITE Visitor Centre on Fenton Street. Head south on Fenton Street and turn left onto Victoria Street. Continue until you reach the intersection with Tarawera Road. Cross Tarawera Road and continue walking straight until you reach the entrance of Whakarewarewa Village. Waharoa / Gateway is located within the village grounds.
