Bus
Start at Taupo's main bus station located on Tongariro Street. Look for the bus service that heads to Whakapapa Village. The bus ride will take approximately 1 hour. Ensure to check the bus schedule for the latest departure times. Once you arrive at Whakapapa Village, disembark at the Whakapapa Visitor Centre.

Walking
From the Whakapapa Visitor Centre, head towards the Taranaki Falls Track, which is well-marked. The track begins right outside the Visitor Centre. The walk to Taranaki Falls is approximately 6 kilometers one way and will take about 2 hours to reach the falls. The path is clearly marked and offers stunning views along the way.

To return to Whakapapa Village, retrace your steps along the Taranaki Falls Track. The total round trip is approximately 12 kilometers and will take around 4 hours. Make sure to leave enough time to catch the bus back to Taupo.
