Turn onto the access road, which is well-marked. Continue for another 1 km until you reach the parking area. The trailhead for Tawhai Falls Walk is located just a short walk from the parking area.

For those using public transportation, you can take a shuttle bus service that runs from Taupo or National Park Village to various locations in Tongariro National Park. Request to be dropped off at Whakapapa Village. From there, you will need to walk approximately 2 km to reach the Tawhai Falls Walk trailhead. Follow the signs directing you towards the falls, and enjoy the scenic views as you walk along the path.
