If you are starting in the Whanganui city center, begin by walking east along Victoria Avenue. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Anzac Parade. At this intersection, turn left onto Anzac Parade. Keep walking for approximately 1.5 kilometers. You will pass the Whanganui River on your left. Kowhai Park Family Playground is located on your right-hand side, just before you reach the Pumpkin.

From the Whanganui city center, you can catch the bus that travels along Anzac Parade. Board any bus heading towards Whanganui East. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Kowhai Park. The bus stop is located just outside the park entrance. Once you disembark, you will see Kowhai Park Family Playground directly ahead.

If you have access to a bike, start in the city center and head east along Victoria Avenue. Continue straight until you reach Anzac Parade, then turn left. Follow Anzac Parade for about 1.5 kilometers, cycling alongside the Whanganui River on your left. Kowhai Park Family Playground will be on your right, just before reaching The Pumpkin.
